Why These Names Are Common in the U.S.
Popular names seem familiar, have a significance, and are easy to say. Liam, Olivia, and Noah are among the older ones. They are utilized in families, religious stories, and historical traditions, so picking them connects parents. For their strength and elegance, Elijah, Daniel, and Emma remain popular.
Trends also matter. Names can become popular when they feature in movies or prominent people use them for their children. Luna, Ava, and Mateo have been popular names in recent years for this reason. Parents increasingly want fresh names with a narrative. You get a combination of ancient and new names that are easy to remember, sound excellent, and fit this generation.

How This Information Was Gathered
This list uses baby name data from the SSA, a U.S. government department that tracks births. The initial name of a newborn is recorded with their Social Security number. That shows the SSA which names are most popular in the US. Annually in May, they release the most popular baby names from the previous year.
Along with SSA data, Google Trends and census data track naming trends. These show which names are popular in searches and in different states and communities. SSA provides official figures, but other technologies show us how names are trending in real life. Together, these two things reveal popular U.S. names.
